Why must there be land reclamation? Will there be an environmental impact?

⦁ The Industrial Estate Authority of Thailand (IEAT) is responsible for the   land reclamation program as part of its governmental mandate.  BLCP is a tenant of the Map Ta Phut Industrial Estate, and will carry out the reclamation necessary to construct the power plant in 2002 and 2003.  The reclamation process has been previously approved by the Thai government.
