BLCP Power Limited

BLCP Power is a 50:50 Thai joint venture between the Banpu Group (Banpu Coal Power and Banpu Public Company) and Electricity Generating Public Company (EGCO Group), operating with modern production technology and strict environmental management, using high-quality bituminous coal mostly imported from Australia, with a total capacity of 1,434 MW.

Start of Operations

BLCP began generating electricity from Unit 1 (717 MW) on 1 October 2006 and Unit 2 (717 MW) in February 2007, in line with EGAT's Power Development Plan (PDP), selling electricity to EGAT under the Independent Power Producer (IPP) program. BLCP is located at Map Ta Phut Industrial Port Phase 2, leased from IEAT for 30 years since 30 June 2000.

Power Purchase Agreement

Power Purchase Agreement

BLCP signed a 25-year Power Purchase Agreement (PPA) with EGAT on 19 November 1997. BLCP ranks 5th largest power producer in Thailand, supporting the country's Power Development Plan, system stability, fuel diversification, and environmental policies such as the use of B20 biodiesel during plant start-up and shutdown.
