1. Wastewater from Power Generation Process (1,500 m³/day)
Sources of wastewater in this section come from
- ► Sedimentation tanks in the water quality improvement system — 95 m³/day
- ► Water Treatment System — 110 m³/day
- ► Floor washing water from various areas — 200 m³/day
- ► Plant Cycle Blowdown — 785 m³/day
- ► Service Water — 300 m³/day
- ► Wastewater from the chemical laboratory — 10 m³/day
Wastewater Treatment Approach
Wastewater with imbalanced pH (not equal to 7) is sent to the Neutralization System.
Wastewater contaminated with oil or grease from machinery is treated with an Oil Separator system — separated oil residue is managed by authorized external companies for hazardous waste disposal.
Some wastewater is also generated from the sulfur dioxide (SO₂) capture process using the Sea Water FGD system, which is sent through an Aeration Pond before being discharged back to the sea.
2. Wastewater from Employees and General Activities (Sewage) (200 m³/day)
Wastewater from restrooms and indoor activities is sent to the Biological Wastewater Treatment Process to meet the wastewater discharge standards set by the Department of Industrial Works.
Wastewater Discharge to the Sea
All types of treated wastewater are discharged to the sea through the power plant's Sea Water Outfall. The system has the following characteristics
- ► Flow rate approximately 62.3 m³ per second
- ► Flow velocity approximately 1.5 meters per second
- ► Effluent quality complies with industrial standards to prevent marine environmental impact
Wastewater Reuse Approach
The power plant has initiated a project to reuse treated wastewater, such as
- ► Reuse in some production processes
- ► Watering plants and green areas within the plant
